The teacher had just read the children a story about Johnny Appleseed, whose real name was John Chapman. They loved the story as well as the pictures in the story book. The teacher then asked the class, “What color are apples?

t one boy, who was also named Johnny, sat silently and never raised his hand. The teacher was concerned and decided to call on him.
Johnny, “What color do you think apples are?” Johnny thought for a few moments and then said, “White?”
The teacher laughed and said, “Oh, Johnny, that’s silly, apples aren’t white.”
Johnny smiled and said, “They are on the inside!”
